Lab Equipment and Software

Our TMS Lab, established in 2007, is equipped with Rapid2 transcranial magnetic stimulator from Magstim which is capable of delivering both single and repetitive pulses. We also use neuronavigation to guide the TMS coil based on individual MRIs or using an estimated standard MRI fitted to participants' head shape. The 3D and 2D real-time visualisations of the cortex during the neuronavigation is accomplished using software called Softaxic. To trace the movements of the head and stimulation coil, Softaxic interacts with NDI Polaris Vicra optical tracking system which provides real-time position of the coil relative to the head in 3D space.
